Best Luxury Wedding Venues in Rome Italy

There’s something to be said about getting married in Rome, isn’t there? All of the rich history and greatness that once stood in the exact same place. Rome, one of my favorite places in the world, continues to capture hearts around the globe with its splendor and epic sights. Also known as the Eternal City, Rome has a history that spans across 28 centuries. It was first coined the Eternal City in the 1st century BC ( that’s approximately 2,000 years ago for those counting!) by poet Tibullus. Tibullus used the phrase Urbs Aeterna, or Eternal City to describe Rome as the pinnacle of society - if Rome fell, so would the rest of the world.

Hotel de Russie

Hotel de Russie was dubbed “paradise on earth” by French poet Jean Cocteau back in 1917, and anyone that has the pleasure of visiting can see why. The garden café here at the hotel is constantly filled with bloggers and celebrities, and for good reason. The pink walls and blue windows lived up to every bit of my imagination. This venue is perfectly intimate for smaller weddings and private events. Towards the end of the garden café, guests can find majestic steps leading to the Le Jardin restaurant. For weddings and celebrations, one can privatize a section of the restaurant, the adjacent indoor salon, and the pergola for private use.

Insider Tip: I recommend this venue for weddings and celebrations with a lunch reception vs. a dinner reception. The reason for this is due to the close proximity of the event spaces to the guest rooms, the venue does not allow for music to be played late into the evening. Separately, this venue would also make an unforgettable welcome or rehearsal dinner as part of an overall wedding weekend in Rome.

Villa Aurelia

Without a doubt, Villa Aurelia is my go-to venue recommendation in Rome. Actually, it’s one of my top-10 favorite venues in Italy in general. I never thought I would come across a venue like this near a big city and I’m so thankful that I did. It’s both intimate and majestic all at once. The venue surprises you constantly with its beautiful structures and design. I was blown away simply by how one enters the Villa! Villa Aurelia offers both outdoor and indoor spaces, including a secret garden and this favorite golden room of mine. To me, this place is the perfect blend of romance and luxury, giving you a touch of what it would be like to get married at a Villa in Tuscany, while still offering a touch of charm from the Eternal City.

Insider Tip: When it comes to this venue, it is, unfortunately, a toss-up between having an outdoor wedding reception right outside the Villa, or having fireworks. This is because if one were to have fireworks, the location where they’re on display might interfere with the outdoor reception. With that said, there are many other garden areas to have the reception outdoors, along with magnificent indoor spaces to choose from.

Villa Miani

Have a large guest list for your Rome wedding? Looking for a venue close to the city center, but don’t want the typical indoor ballroom wedding? Villa Miani is my go-to venue recommendation for large weddings just outside the Eternal City. With it’s massive indoor and outdoor event spaces, couples should only consider this venue if they have a guest list of 200+ people, to avoid having the space feel too empty (the terrace right beyond the Villa can seat up to 400 guests alone!). You will find gorgeous marble floors, grand chandeliers, and special details such as this wallpaper in the Villa’s entryway. I’ve never seen walls kept so white and conditions kept so pristine as they are at Villa Miani.

Insider Tip: Understanding that the venue is huge, couples can actually rent only half of the venue at once. However, this means it is possible for the venue to host two different weddings or events on the same evening. While not ideal, know that there are two different entrances for the two events, so the parties would not interfere with each other.

St. Regis Rome

There is nothing grander than St. Regis Rome in the Eternal City. If you’re looking for over-the-top, once-in-a-lifetime, made for kings and queens kind of wedding venue, look no further. Having just completed a 3-year, $45 million dollar renovation led by interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon (who also designs for Four Seasons George V in Paris), every corner is literally sparkling. The main event ballroom spans a whopping 3,000 square feet. Moreover, with multiple adjacent smaller ballrooms, couples have plenty of options to allocate different parts of the wedding day to the various rooms, which is important in creating an exciting and unique wedding experience. Lastly, your wedding guests will love the breakfast buffet with bottomless champagne! The newly-renovated rooms, adorned in powder blue and grey, are especially elegant and rounds out the amazing experience at St. Regis Rome.

Insider Tip: St. Regis Rome offers its guests the opportunity to enjoy Rome and all its glory on board a real piece of Italian history: an iconic Fiat 600 Multipla from 1962. Revamped to a zero-emission electric unit and painted with a special high polish glass effect, the black and pastel ivory exteriors recall the original model and are enriched by a line of 24K gold leaf down both sides. On the interior, premium leather door panels and velvet seats are topped by a special roof lining that carries a replica of a fresco by Pietro da Cortona, located on the ceiling of the noble hall in Palazzo Barberini!
