Best Luxury Wedding Venues in Positano Italy
Positano never fails to seduce. What used to be a small fishing village along the Amalfi Coast has grown into an incredible international sensation. Sunsets are never as beautiful, wine is never as stimulating and food is never as inviting as it is in Positano. Home to some of the most luxurious venues, Positano is a truly a dream inside and out.
San Pietro
San Pietro has been providing beauty to their guests and the world since 1970, though the hotel sparkles as if it was just built yesterday. Impressively, the hotel commits to small renovations every winter when it is closed for the season, updating some aspect of the property to keep it pristine and innovative. San Pietro is one of the only hotels in Positano and along the Amalfi Coast that has direct access to the Tyrrhenian Sea. The beachfront Carolino Restaurant, named after the hotel’s founder, and the small adjacent garden makes it the ideal location for small celebrations and events.
Insider Tip: Unfortunately, the hotel’s gorgeous terrace is not available for private events. With that said, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the property and have an aperitif on the terrace. After the aperitif, have the most romantic dinner at San Pietro’s Michelin star Zass restaurant. Make sure you book the restaurant in advance; they only take a certain number of non-hotel guest reservations daily.
Santa Caterina
I simply love Santa Caterina. I really enjoy the laid-back nature of the property. Don’t get me wrong, this venue is every bit as magnificent as you imagine it to be; it simply felt less of a “scene” here, which is fantastic for someone who is trying to experience Positano in an authentic way. There are fewer people taking selfies and more people just enjoying themselves and enjoying Italy. Did I mention the outstanding pool? Santa Caterina makes a beautiful wedding or event venue for couples looking for a more low-key luxury Positano wedding.
Insider Tip: My favorite thing about this venue is the open terrace adjacent to the beach club restaurant Al Mare. While the garden for the wedding ceremony is undeniably phenomenal, to me, the open terrace is the true draw to choose this venue for one’s wedding. I can’t think of a better spot to dance the night away, celebrating your love with your favorite people in the world.
Villa Treville
Finally, the one and only Villa Treville. This extraordinary million dollar wedding venue (literally) in Positano really does live up to all the hype. I love all the different spaces available for the welcome drink, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and after-party. I can’t say enough great things about this venue for weddings and events. This venue’s mind-blowing aesthetics and flexible optionality makes it anyone’s dream wedding venue.
Insider Tip: Did you know that parts of Villa Treville’s design is Moroccan inspired? Franco Zeffirelli, the original owner of the now hotel, hired his friend Renzo Mongiardino to design Treville after purchasing it in the 60s for personal use. This arched and tiled salon evokes Moroccan exoticism in an oasis of white, featuring banquettes covered with mirrored Indian fabric and 19th-century Libyan furniture. The salon has remained relatively unchanged since it’s original conception.
