Meet Paulina
Hello, I am the Paulina in Paulina Yeh Events. I am a first-generation Taiwanese American. I was born in Taiwan, and moved to the US when I was 12, along with my single mother and younger brother. My mother believed in the American dream and wanted us to have access to the best education the world had to offer. We left everything behind; baby photos, childhood toys, and most of our clothes. We had nothing when we moved to Las Vegas, not even enough money to buy a car. My mother worked as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant to put food on the table as a single parent. We lived motel to motel for years and would take the public bus to buy groceries from Walmart, which was 40 minutes away. To make learning English more fun, my mother encouraged us to try and read Harry Potter in English. Mom, if you’re reading this, I’m not sure that was the wisest decision considering all the made-up words!
I ended up giving up my full scholarship to USC and attended Brown University on the east coast, studying International Relations with a focus on Economics. After college, I worked at J.P Morgan Private Bank for 8 years and paid off my student loans. This brings me to my current adventure and true passion, Paulina Yeh Events.
I love a good party. I love all special occasions. My friends would say that I love their birthdays more than they love their own. Seeing and knowing that people are having a great time makes every bone in my body happy. Maybe I’m making up for lost time, celebrating each occasion bigger and better because I didn’t get to celebrate them growing up. Who knows? All I know is, the events I bring to live are truly once-in-a-lifetime. Work with me because I’m just as obsessed with your special day as you are.
Where are you based?
I am based between New York and Italy. During the wedding season, you will find me in Italy, overseeing our destination weddings on the ground. I am also visiting new venues, meeting up with the top vendors, trying new restaurants, and experiencing the local tours and activities that our client’s might be interested in incorporating into their wedding weekend.
You will find me in New York during the rest of the year. During these months, where most of the wedding planning takes place, many of our clients appreciate the convenience of being in the same (or closer) time zone offers. No matter if it’s emailing, scheduling calls, or meeting up in person; we are Italy experts that plan weddings on your time.
What Makes Paulina Yeh Events Different?
I started Paulina Yeh Events after planning my own four-day wedding in Florence, Italy. Why? Because I saw a huge gap in client experience when it came to planning a destination wedding in Europe. In today’s world, instant gratification is a basic requirement, not an add-on. While working with a wedding coordinator based in Italy, I often didn’t get email replies for weeks. I would call, but no one would ever answer. Of course, they didn’t work weekends or the entire month of December. It was extremely frustrating and simply unacceptable. Planning a wedding and being a bride was already giving me enough anxiety, I didn’t need additional stress from the one person that was supposed to be helping me.
In other words, I started Paulina Yeh Events because I want to deliver the destination wedding experience I wish I had. Everyone deserves the fairytale wedding they’ve always dreamed about with the least amount of friction possible. I work hard like the New Yorker that I am, and only work with the best partners in the industry that hold themselves to the same standard. I am proud of the high-touch service, enchanting designs, and seamless execution we deliver and honor. I strongly believe that having worked on strategy and business development for a leading financial institution gives me an edge in delivering the best planning process and client experience. After all, there is much more to planning a wedding than mood boards and color schemes. I am trained in project management by industry leaders. Yes, a wedding should definitely be managed as a project!
A memorable wedding or event doesn’t just happen by chance - it is carefully and thoughtfully planned for. It requires a planner that can offer insights into things you haven’t thought about. It requires a planner that’s extremely organized and great at communicating. Most importantly, it requires a planner that puts you first and cares about making your day incredible.
