Valentine's Day: 11 Gift Ideas for Her
It’s almost Valentine's Day! While we can’t all be Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman and have our own Richard Gere (who gives perfect gifts, by the way), we can celebrate this day with as big of a smile as she has in the photo here.
Are you someone who needs a little help brainstorming what present to gift on the day of love? Are you're looking to "nudge" your partner in the right direction with passive clues (maybe this blog accidentally slips into someone's DM or inbox)? Maybe you're someone who's looking to get yourself something in the name of #selfcare and #selflove. No matter how you're planning to spend Valentine's Day, this is the gift list for you. Here are 11 wonderful things that would bring a smile to any woman on this special occasion.
1. Flowers from Designs by Ahn
Design by Ahn is my favorite florist in New York City (and one of my favorites in the world).
I love her color palettes; as seen below, even when the floral bouquet is all pink, you would find tons of different floral types, textures, and shades of pink in the bouquet.
She is also able to play with unique colors such as purples and blues in a graceful way (not tacky at all, like most florists when they explore these more difficult colors).
Lastly, Design by Ahn’s price is also unbeatable. You’re just not going to get more beautiful flowers at this price. Personally, this is where my husband gets me flowers from all the time. I really can’t recommend this florist enough.
2. Chocolates from HU and Pierre Herme
I love me some chocolate! Whenever I meet someone who isn’t into chocolate or sweets, there’s a part of me that’s super jealous (think about all the calories they aren’t consuming).
The other part of me just thinks they are lying!! Because how can anyone not be into chocolate?!!
If you’re looking to live up to the cliché (but delicious) tradition of giving someone chocolates on Valentine’s Day, I highly recommend the HU Dark Chocolate Lovers Gift Box for someone’s who’s more health-conscious, and the Pierre Herme Signature Chocolate Set for others that are more YOLO. These two brands are as special as chocolates get.
3. Cozy Cardigan from UGG
For those who prefer a more practical gift vs. something that will disappears within a week (that’s giving chocolate a pretty long time before it disappears in my house), this is the gift for you. There is nothing more practical than a cozy cardigan to get through the winter months.
I’ve basically been living in UGG sweats since November, and this UGG Franca Travel Cardigan is one of my favorites this season.
It also comes in various other colors, so make sure to check it out (and stay cozy)!
4. Velvet Rose & Oud Deluxe Candle from Jo Malone
Oh, Jo Malone. You just can’t go wrong with Jo Malone.
Do I even need to explain why? Or has Jo Malone successfully marketed into all of our hearts already? For something extra special on Valentine’s Day, this Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud Deluxe Candle is incredible. It’s woody. It’s sexy. It’s so damn luxe. Honey - if you’re reading this, this would be a major win if I got this for Valentine’s Day!!
5. Polaroid Originals OneStep Camera
I gift polaroid camera to my girlfriends all the time, and every time I do, it’s a major success. I have not come across anyone who does not love receiving a polaroid camera. If you’re looking for a universal gift that everyone will truly love and use, this is the gift for you.
Of all the different camera styles available, I’ve been obsessed with this Polaroid Originals OneStep Camera. I love the camera’s overall design; it’s so vintage and (for the lack of a better word) cool. It also uses square polaroid films instead of the typical smaller rectangular ones, which is a further throwback.
Get this for someone on Valentine’s Day, and make sure to snap a picture together with it.
6. Always Pan from Our Place
The Our Place Always Pan is the perfect gift for people that are crafty in the kitchen. This do-it-all wonder is designed to replace 8 traditional pieces of cookware. Plus, it looks pretty good too (it comes in so many stunning colors). The pan is made with their exclusive, non-toxic, nonstick ceramic coating made without toxic materials that could potentially be found in your traditional cookware. With the Always Pan, you can braise, sear, steam, strain, sauté, fry, and boil. I’m not even joking!
I’m barely a homemaker and love it - can you imagine how much someone that’s actually good at homemaking will love this?
7. Tribales Earrings from Dior
For the most part, I think it’s hard to buy jewelry for people. I can’t really pinpoint why, but if I had to guess, it’s because jewelry is something really intimate with strong personal preference. With that said, if there’s one pair of luxe earrings that is beloved by the masses, it is these Dior Tribales Earrings. These babies truly go with everything.
I wear it out for date night with a little black dress. I wear it for work with my double-breasted suits. I even wear it on the beach sometimes in my bikini and a mojito. It elevates any outfit for any occasion.
It’s not only a perfect Valentine’s Day gift, but it’s definitely a must-have in your jewelry collection.
8. Silk Sleep Mask from Lunya
I am a big believer in sleep (this is a whole other blog entry). To get your best night’s sleep, researchers recommend eliminating light sources in your bedroom. The darker your room, the better your sleep. The difficulty I have with that is I live in a rented apartment in New York City.
While I dream of ugly black-out curtains, what I actually have to live with are these crappy, half see-through shades that still allow New York City to shine directly into my bedroom.
Solution? Eye masks. Eye masks have been my saving grace, and these Lunya Silk Sleep Mask make me feel like I’m sleeping in clouds (especially my eyes). This is a great gift for any gal that’s working on her #selfcare. Get that beauty sleep on!
9. Silk Pajamas from Olivia von Halle
I’m not going to lie to you and say I lounge around my apartment in silk pajamas. If you FaceTime me at random, you will most likely find me in my UGG sweats as mentioned above. Once in a while though, when I haven’t washed my hair for the 3rd consecutive day, haven’t put makeup on for five, and haven’t put real clothes on for a whole week, I get a little inspired to look like a real human being.
On those days, I wash my hair, use a face sheet mask, and put on fancy silk pajamas (cause it’s still a “no” on real clothes).
There’s something so unrealistic about silk pajamas that it actually makes you feel incredible, the same way Louboutins makes you feel (your feet die but your spirits are high)!
I love these Olivia von Halle Lila Silk Pajamas Set in light pink. I mean, can anything be more unnecessarily chic?
10. Universal Wine Glass from Zalto
SOO it seems like we all won’t be able to get vaccinated until at least this summer. In other words, it seems like I will be drinking wine at home on a higher than average frequency (vs. pre-pandemic) until at least this summer…
If you’re a wine lover, this is the gift for you. The ultimate wine glass - the Zalto Universal Wine Glass. Zalto is widely considered the gold standard of glassware by wine connoisseurs and professionals alike. It is made of mouth-blown, nonleaded crystal; it’s incredibly light; and it’s shaped like a piece of art.
Long story short, wine literally tastes better when it is drank out of a Zalto glass, and there’s nothing like swirling wine like doing so in a Zalto glass.
11. LOVE Bracelet from Cartier
Last but not least, for the ultimate luxe gift, consider gifting a Cartier Love Bracelet!
It’s no ruby necklace like what Richard Gere gave to Julia Roberts, but it’s pretty damn close.
A creation of 1970s New York, the Cartier LOVE collection remains today an iconic symbol of love that transgresses convention. The “screw” motifs, ideal oval shape, and undeniable elegance establish the piece as a timeless tribute to passionate romance. So, how far would you go for love?
