With it’s closer proximity to Naples compared to other towns along the Amalfi Coast (i.e. Positano, Ravello, etc.), Sorrento is a great wedding destination for couples that want to get married with the perfect coastal backdrop, but don’t want their guests to have to travel too far after getting off the plane or train from Naples. The abundance of limoncello doesn’t hurt either.

This stunning hotel stands on the foundations of a villa dating all the way back to the 2nd century B.C. during the Roman Empire. Today, almost all of the hotel’s rooms have an incredible view of the Gulf of Naples. I especially love the decor of the property; the use of mint green, the mix of modern art and antiques and Murano chandeliers throughout the hotel is phenomenal. Hotel Bellevue Syrene is the perfect property for a wedding or event full buy-out. With only 50 rooms, imagine having the hotel and all its fantastic common spaces to yourself for your wedding or special celebration.
Insider Tip: The best thing about the hotel is the private hotel beach deck as seen in the last photo here. While it’s certainly splendid to enjoy this beach deck as a hotel guest and soak in the Amalfi sun, the deck is also great to host a welcome cocktail event to kick-off a full wedding weekend.

Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is my go-to recommended venue for weddings or events in Sorrento. Legend goes that the Roman Emperor Augustus had built a villa for himself at this exact spot. This iconic property had just celebrated its 180th anniversary (yes, you aren’t reading that wrong). The long-standing level of excellence is truly impressive. I love this venue for the variety of spaces it offers; from the secret-garden-like entrance to the fresco-covered reception ballroom, guests will be constantly surprised as they move through the different wedding events. I also love the poolside L’Orangerie restaurant; with plenty of lemon trees and grounds, it’s a fantastic spot on the property to host a welcome dinner or rehearsal dinner as part of the overall wedding weekend.
Insider Tip: The venue simply has the most gorgeous terrace in Sorrento. It’s the perfect spot to sit down and have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view, with live music playing in the background. The terrace can also be privatized for weddings and events. Couples have the choice to rent the entire terrace or only the upper part of the terrace at different costs.
