Cozy Comfy Loungewear to Wear at Home
For me, February in New York City is about survival. Pure animal instinct to survive the brutal, freezing weather. I get cold easily to begin with, so these winter months are really killer for me. It’s no longer about looking cute at all; it’s just about staying warm and alive (like our friend Bridget Jones here).
In my attempt to stay as warm as possible, I spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to discover great loungewear. Cozy, comfy, and fuzzy loungewear. This attempt was further enhanced by the fact that I’ve basically been working from home for an entire year now (you know, pandemic and all), which also required great loungewear.
Having done extensive research to find the most comfortable things possible to wear at home, going as far as conducting real human trials with my own body, I would like to take the opportunity to humbly announce my title as Queen of Loungewear.
The good people of the world, I share with you my treasured insight of the best loungewear to wear at home. May you live warm and cozy (Star Trek reference, if you know you know).
1. Bleusalt Shorty V Top + Cindy Pant
If you haven’t discovered the wonder that is Bleusalt, it’s time to get on this Malibu train. Bleusalt is a California-based clothing brand that blew up after Cindy Crawford was photographed wearing many of their items. Everything the brand produces is made of an ultra-soft fabric that’s 100% sustainable and antimicrobial. Derived from the Beechtree, the natural fibers are 95% Beechwood, 5% Spandex, creating a perfectly breathable and machine washable material.
Bleusalt is a new kind of fashion that seamlessly takes you from day to night, the whole time allowing you to feel effortlessly comfortable and put together.
For most days, I pair this Bleusalt Shorty V Top with the Bleusalt Cindy Pant when I’m working from home. If I have an extra important meeting, I might throw on a cashmere Hermes scarf (instead of a blazer) to complete a formal look. If like me, you have to take ZOOM meetings working from home, want to look semi-professional, but also want to be comfortable in the softest fabric ever, Bleusalt is for you.
Shopping Tip: Bleusalt goes on 30-40% sales on every holiday with no promo code required. For instance, the entire website was 35% off for Valentine’s Day. So, if you’re looking to buy something from Bleusalt, I strongly recommend you wait until there’s a sale to save some money (this stuff isn’t exactly cheap)! The only caveat here is that things purchased on sale can only be returned for store credit. With that said, I have a feeling you’re gonna wanna keep what you’ve purchased.
2. UGG Asala Hoodie + Safiya Jogger
A great way to describe my goal while staying at home is to feel like how my feet feel in my UGG boots, but like, all over my body. My prayers were answered when UGG started making clothing in their iconic “cozy knit” material!
If you happen to run into me at Whole Foods over the weekend, or on days that I don’t have ZOOM meetings, you will find me in the UGG Asala Hoodie and UGG Safiya Jogger set. These are definitely the most appreciated clothing in my closet. I’m just so grateful that UGG made them and I discovered them! They are so soft it’s actually unbelievable. I have this set in mint green, dusty rose, and dark grey colors. Yup, I have 3 sets of these UGG heavens for my 1 body.
UGG also makes a V-neck Sweatshirt in the same material, but I prefer the drawstring hoodie cause the higher neckline keeps me warmer. In all seriousness, I really can’t think of anything better than being in this outfit, laying on the couch, holding a glass of wine, and watching something with Nicole Kidman (i.e. Big Little Lies, the Undoing, Moulin Rouge, you know). Buy this. Trust me! It’s a winner in every way.
3. Lunya Cozy Pima Wool Ribbed Pullover + Cozy Pima Alpaca Ribbed Legging
Another great loungewear option is the Lunya Cozy Pima Wool Ribbed Pullover and the Lunya Cozy Pima Alpaca Ribbed Legging luxe set. The Pima wool material used for these pieces is like being wrapped up in your favorite blanket; it provides excellent insulation by holding in body heat, keeping you warm during cold days and nights. The fabric is also hypoallergenic, so it’s soft on your skin and gentle on your body.
Lunya is the ultimate luxury loungewear brand. Known for their washable silk clothing, they specialize in stay-at-home items that are super chic and comfortable at the same time.
I’m a sucker for good knits, so it’s not surprising that I adore this ribbed pullover with an oversized fit and open neck. It’s just so damn chic! This is something I can #netflixandchill in, but can also easily wear out to dinners with a pair of jeans or leggings.
4. Flygo Fleece Sweatshirt + Fleece Joggers Pants
Last but not least, I would not be the Queen of Loungewear if I did not own something in fleece. I can’t recommend the Flygo Fleece Sweatshirt and Flygo Fleece Joggers Pants set enough.
I just love me some fleeece! I know it’s no cashmere, but I actually prefer fleece-lined pieces for staying at home. They are much more comfortable and hold heat tremendously well. More importantly, similar to the UGG set, it feels like I’m rolling around in clouds all day. Who wouldn’t want to feel like they are rolling in clouds all day?! This is my go-to loungewear when it gets really cold outside, like when it’s snow storming, because it’s simply the warmest loungewear set on this list.
Did I mention you can get this entire set for under $65 on Amazon? It’s not only super cozy, but it’s also super affordable! What more can you ask for when it comes to great loungewear?
Stay warm and stay safe!
